Shoulder Arthroscopic Surgery

Minimally invasive shoulder surgery for rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, impingement syndrome, and shoulder instability. Experience faster recovery with our advanced arthroscopic techniques.

Shoulder Conditions We Treat

Comprehensive arthroscopic solutions for all shoulder problems

🔧

Rotator Cuff Tears

Complete or partial tears of the rotator cuff tendons causing pain and weakness. We perform precise arthroscopic repair to restore shoulder function.

⚠ïļ

Shoulder Impingement

Compression of rotator cuff tendons causing chronic pain. Arthroscopic decompression creates more space for smooth tendon movement.

ðŸ’Ŧ

Labral Tears (SLAP)

Tears of the cartilage rim (labrum) around the shoulder socket. Common in overhead athletes and can cause clicking, pain, and instability.

ðŸŽŊ

Shoulder Instability

Recurrent shoulder dislocations or feeling of shoulder "slipping out". Arthroscopic stabilization repairs damaged structures.

❄ïļ

Frozen Shoulder

Severe stiffness and pain limiting motion. Arthroscopic capsular release combined with therapy restores movement.

ðŸĶī

AC Joint Problems

Arthritis or separation of the acromioclavicular joint. Arthroscopic treatment removes damaged tissue and reduces pain.

Benefits of Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery

Why minimally invasive is the gold standard

1

Minimal Scarring

Small keyhole incisions (5-10mm) instead of large open cuts. Nearly invisible scars and better cosmetic results.

2

Less Pain

Reduced tissue trauma means significantly less post-operative pain and lower pain medication requirements.

3

Faster Recovery

Most patients go home the same day. Return to daily activities weeks faster than traditional surgery.

4

Lower Infection Risk

Smaller incisions and less tissue exposure dramatically reduce the risk of surgical site infections.

5

Better Visualization

HD camera provides magnified view inside the joint, allowing more precise and thorough treatment.

6

Superior Outcomes

Studies show equal or better results compared to open surgery with fewer complications and higher satisfaction.

What is Shoulder Arthroscopy?

Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems inside the shoulder joint. During the procedure, your surgeon makes small incisions (about 5-10mm) and inserts a tiny camera called an arthroscope to view the inside of your shoulder on a video monitor.

Additional small incisions allow the surgeon to insert specialized instruments to repair damaged tissues, remove loose bodies, or treat other shoulder conditions. The entire procedure is performed through these small "keyhole" incisions, preserving healthy tissue and reducing recovery time.

The Surgical Procedure

Our arthroscopic shoulder surgery process includes:

  • Performed under general anesthesia with nerve block for post-operative pain control
  • Patient positioned in beach chair or lateral decubitus position for optimal access
  • 3-5 small portals created for camera and instruments
  • Comprehensive inspection of entire shoulder joint
  • Precise repair of damaged structures using suture anchors and specialized techniques
  • Removal of inflamed tissue and bone spurs if present
  • Testing of repair stability before completing procedure
  • Typical surgery duration: 60-120 minutes depending on complexity

Who Needs Shoulder Arthroscopy?

You may be a candidate for shoulder arthroscopy if you experience:

  • Persistent shoulder pain not responding to conservative treatment (3-6 months)
  • Weakness or inability to lift arm overhead
  • Night pain disrupting sleep quality
  • Shoulder instability or recurrent dislocations
  • Catching, clicking, or locking sensations
  • Limited range of motion affecting daily activities
  • Failed physical therapy, injections, and medications
  • MRI confirmation of structural damage requiring surgical repair

Recovery & Rehabilitation Timeline
